Project Manager

Hi, my name is Neal, and I am the Project Manager at Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries. I have been a part of the team since November 2017, and love working here because of the family feel the business has!

I support new Franchisees and Nursery Group to deliver quality sites, finished to a high standard. I monitor and support all aspects of the property pipeline relating to pre-acquisition approval, and the design and build phase, I also support existing Franchisees with property maintenance/planning issues and fire safety. I undertake fire risk assessments and write fire management strategies, evacuation procedures and access statements for the new sites, and undertake initial site viewings to assess site suitability for MP Franchisee or MPNG, providing the Franchising team with proposed floor plans and all the relevant information to run financial analysis.​

I have over 40 years' experience within the building industry, and I have a passion for delivering the best environment for children, I love to problem solve and be challenged, there is nothing more satisfying than designing a nursery and seeing it to the end. ​I have completed a fire risk assessors’ course at the national fire collage and also have a city and guilds in brickwork. I’m a team player and great at problem solving, I always look for a solution and never dwell on the problem, I also like to think my superpower is building and forming relationships.    

Get to know me

I love golf, walking my dog Beau, watching my beloved Barnsley fc with my son Ty, and walking in the hills and mountains in Yorkshire, I also love going to as many music festivals as I can with both my kids, Tyler and Shelby. A fun fact about me is that I’m a qualified ABA boxing coach, I used to run a boxing club in my local village for the local kids and residents, we built it from scratch with donations from local business, many famous boxers visited the club over the years, Roy Jones Junior, Smoking Joe Frazer and Joe Calzaghe to name a few.
