Our Franchise Package
Training is a core focus at Monkey Puzzle, it is a key component to operating your nursery franchise successfully. We offer a comprehensive service, so whether you have experience of working in the childcare sector or if this is your first introduction, we will ensure you have been educated in all aspects of your new business.
In the U.K. children’s nurseries have to be approved by the regulator Ofsted whose demanding requirements are comprehensively fulfilled in the Monkey Puzzle franchise. Consequently training is of the essence and our programme, which is regarded as one of the best in nursery management, is based on substantial practical knowledge.
Initially when you pay your Licence Fee you will receive your Training Manual, Complete Policies and Stationary CD.
The purpose of the first stages of your training are to ensure that sufficient marketing is put in place to secure a strong potential customer base whilst you complete your building, that senior staff are recruited and most importantly that you will pass your OFSTED Suitable Person’s Interview (SPI).
An initial meeting/call will be booked with Head Office as soon as your lease is signed to begin marketing the presence of the nursery.
Your Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) training will take place next which is without doubt the longest and most time consuming part of your training. The franchisee will have already had their Training Manual and Policies for a number of weeks by now and should have familiarised themselves with them.
They will be required at the end of this process and before you can open the doors of your nursery to pass an intensive interview with OFSTED.
The team at Monkey Puzzle will prepare you for this at Head Office and this will take place over, potentially, a couple of days depending on your prior knowledge of the EYFS. You will then also visit an operational nursery to see all that you have learnt in practice.
If at any point we feel that further training is needed in order to pass your SPI it will be put in place at this time. On the day of your SPI a member of Head Office Operations Team will be with you.
Financial training will also take place both at Head Office and also on site to cover how fees should be collected and reported.
Assistance will also be given to recruit your manager who should also attend your SPI but will not be able to answer questions on your behalf.
Room set up and equipment purchase assistance will also form part of your training as well as assistance on your first open day with parent viewings and card payments.
Long Term Support – Operational
Training having been completed, our franchise relationship continues with an ongoing programme of support in which we stay involved, keeping you updated on OFSTED issues, H.R. matters, local marketing initiatives, regular review meetings and advice generally aimed at establishing and sustaining your success as a Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Franchisee. You might want to consider expansion to a second or subsequent outlet and we will be pleased to discuss your aspirations.
Long Term Support – Fiscal
With “cash flow positive” trading, Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery is particularly attractive from a monetary perspective. Our Central Accounts Department relieves you of a considerable administrative burden and reduces the risk of debtors, facilitating parents’ fee payments by direct debit monthly in advance.
